Hello, everyone!

I'm pleased to announce that plans for our upcoming restaurant opening are proceeding apace! For those of you who don't know what the aitch ee double hockey sticks I'm talking about, I'll back up a little.

Hey, guess what?! We're opening a restaurant this Fall. Yeah, me and Moss. I know, isn't it great? Mockingbird Grill. Yeah, totally! Well, I guess the best way to describe the food would be "Floribbean." Latin, Caribbean...and of course this is Moss we're talking about, so definitely some Italian/Mediterranean influences in there. We're aiming for Fall. Northeast section, you know, on 8th Avenue across from the Army Reserve. Yeah, where Sweetwater Coffee Company used to be. Yeah, I know, isn't this whole thing awesome!!??!

So now that everyone's up to speed, come check out our new (and still under construction) website at mockingbirdgrill.com and if you know any people with a lot of love in their hearts and a bit of extra cash in their wallets who are interested in buying in to this venture, keep us posted; we're still looking for a couple of lucky folks to call "investors." If you're not the investor type, you can still help by purchasing merch at our CafePress shop: cafepress.com/mockingbird23 . We have some fun shirts/stickers/hats and whatnot, and every penny helps (not to mention the free advertising).

We are utterly thrilled to be doing this, and we sincerely hope that you'll stop in for a bite. Keep your ears to the grindstone or whatever - our local peeps might be privvy to advance information about a Preview Dinner we'll probably be doing the evening before we officially open. (PS: Living far away is just an excuse to travel. :) )

'til soon,

Samara

The She-News Updates announcement list will keep you up to date on Samara's latest antics, as well as the occasional site updates. Theatre and art events in and around the Gainesville, Florida area, charity events organized by Samara and other random tidbits about her artistic endeavors will help to enrich your life beyond even the wildest imagination of an Infamous Humpback Stoat of Dubious Magical Origin. But only a little bit, because Samara really doesn't send these things out that often. I'm sorry, you'll just have to be satisfied with that.
